Different problems.
Different priorities.

Forge is one manifesto, but we lead with different policies in different places. Council tax reform plays differently in Newcastle than in Knightsbridge. Sewage cleanup matters more on the South Coast than in the Midlands. This is where to push hardest and what to emphasise where it lands.

Priority Region
The North
160 constituencies · Lab/Reform marginal
Lead Messages
  • Council tax cut: £80k home pays £672, saves £828 per year
  • Defence apprenticeships: 5,000 per year in shipyards and drone factories
  • 3 new military bases: Tees naval hub, Lancashire drone facility, Cumbria RAF
  • Northern Renewal: relocation packages for defence jobs, UK Cyber Academy bid
  • National Resurfacing Programme: 5-year guaranteed council funding
Approach with Care
  • VAT on food: always lead with the income tax cut offset, never mention VAT in isolation
  • Property tax: already a strong winner in the North, do not overcomplicate it
Critical Region
The South
95 constituencies · Con/Lib Dem marginal
Lead Messages
  • Water nationalisation: clean rivers, clean beaches, 90% sewage reduction by Year 5
  • Stamp duty abolished on your primary home
  • 5-year property tax phase-in: no shock bills, bills only change at revaluation
  • NHS AI triage: GP appointment in 3 days not 11
  • Marine energy jobs on the coast: Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Sussex
Approach with Care
  • Property tax: always include the phase-in caveat and pensioner deferral
  • Welfare reform: lower salience than in the North, do not lead with it
Defensive Region
London
73 constituencies · Heavy Labour
Lead Messages
  • Pensioner deferral on property tax: key for outer boroughs with asset-rich, income-poor homeowners
  • Stamp duty abolished: move to a bigger home, downsize, without a £15k tax penalty
  • NHS AI triage and step-down centres: acute pressure most visible in London
  • Channel patrols and bilateral returns: immigration a high-salience issue in outer London
Honest Acknowledgement Required
  • A £550k flat pays £4,620 per year versus current £1,900 council tax at full rate
  • The phase-in helps. The pensioner deferral helps. But the property tax hits London harder than anywhere else and that is honest. The current system is unfair the other way.
Battleground
Midlands
96 constituencies · Three-way contests
Lead Messages
  • Manufacturing renewal: drone and ammunition production, compound semiconductors
  • Toll-funded infrastructure: bypasses, junction upgrades for manufacturing corridors
  • Cut the jobs tax: employer National Insurance threshold raised to £14,000, cheaper to employ people
  • Cannabis legal market: jobs in regulated retail, tax revenue
  • South Wales semiconductor cluster (relevant to West Midlands supply chains)
Watch For
  • Reform UK cannibalising the right-of-Conservative vote that Forge also wants
  • Need clear differentiation from Reform: competence and costed plans, not just anger
Long-term Build
Scotland
57 constituencies · SNP/Labour dominant
Lead Messages
  • Pentland Firth tidal energy: 1 GW to 5 GW, manufacturing in Caithness and Orkney
  • Shipbuilding double shifts at BAE Govan, Scotstoun, and Babcock Rosyth
  • UK Cyber Academy: Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Dundee all have strong bids
  • Crown Estate Scotland already devolved and respected, seabed revenues stay Scottish
  • Energy decoupling: Scottish wind and hydro priced at actual generation cost, not gas
Approach with Care
  • Independence: Forge is neutral, will not block Section 30 if mandated, will not encourage it
  • Avoid any centralising language: respect devolution in all communications
Long-term Build
Wales
32 constituencies · Labour/Plaid contests
Lead Messages
  • South Wales compound semiconductor cluster: £500m+, Newport and Cardiff manufacturing
  • Morlais tidal zone off Anglesey and Bristol Channel wave energy
  • Welsh defence manufacturing renewal: Aberporth, Pembrokeshire, Merthyr
  • Crown Estate devolved to Wales on the Scottish model
  • Welsh Water cleanup plan within the national 25-year programme
